Multiferroic Materials


Working with the Dravid Group at Northwestern’s Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center, I conducted research that examined soft electron beam lithography (soft-eBL) as a fabrication method for patterned multiferroic composites. Using a solution-gel mixture of BaTiO3 (BTO) and CoFe2O4 (CFO), I was able to prepare high-density BTO-CFO composites in a lined pattern with the smallest nanostructure achieved coming in at a width of 30nm. The patterned composites were analyzed using optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods.
